In light of recent news around acts of violence, particularly targeting black males, Haron wanted to take the same energy from Queens Week and bring it citywide via Ballin’ 4 Peace, a fun-filled basketball game featuring local celebrities, political leaders/activists and athletes. An outgrowth of Queens Week, its mission is in alignment: To promote a positive, healthy alternative wherein the community is inspired and supported in committing to non-violence via sports, community vendors/workshops, education, resources and event programming.
The event will also promote healthy families + community programming with proceeds directly benefitting 5 targeted youth programs in attendance from across Manhattan, Queens, Harlem & Brooklyn, the H2O Foundation Program Development and our partners LIFE Camp, Inc.
This year we have added a few new things in the mix and hope that you will come to check it out.
